Justin DeTolla
Q: How do you define yourself?
A: Overall, I’d like to believe that I’m a pretty down-to-earth person. I’m about family, friends, and always trying to get the most out of every day.
I’m also a dreamer/perfectionist, which in turn, keeps me perpetually unsatisfied with myself.
Q: What made you decide to become an artist?
A: I’ve always liked being creative, for as long as I can remember, really. Whether it be writing a song, painting, or graphic design–I’m always looking for an outlet to express myself.
So, I guess it wasn’t as much of a conscious decision to ‘become’ an artist, but rather a natural gravitation towards it.
Q: What inspires you?
A: I believe we’re here, as a species, to do the right thing, and I’m also a firm believer in karma.
Because of this, I really do try to find personal inspiration in everything.
If I’m blessed with something good in my life, I hold onto it in a good way. And if I see something that I think is wrong, or unjust, I try to use whatever my feelings may be towards the situation in a positive way.
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests, outside of your art?
A: I really do enjoy spending time with my family and friends, which takes up a good deal of my non-working hours. But when I do have additional time, I like to work on my home, and enjoy car rides with my pug (and best buddy) Jack.
