Michele Melcher
Q: How do you define yourself?
A: Although I might seem like my head is in the clouds, I really do know what’s going on.
What makes me unique? Following my own path, I guess. I thrive on fun. Fun can be as grand as going on a big trip or as simple as sitting around the fire pit with some good friends. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive. In life, you only get one go around so you might as well try and have a good time. Don’t waste your time on high maintenance things or people. If something is broken, try and fix it. If you can’t, then move on. Surround yourself with positivity and try to avoid negativity as much as possible. Be honest to yourself and to others.
Don’t spread yourself too thin because you will lose your integrity. Remember your responsibilities. Don’t be a jerk. Dive in, enjoy life – especially the little things. Don’t follow the herd if it doesn’t interest you or make sense to you just for the sake of fitting in.
Be yourself.
Q: What made you decide to become an artist?
A: It is just something that I have always done, since I was a baby. I’ve been drawing since before I knew how to spell my name. It’s in my blood and I have to do it.
Q: What inspires you?
A: Being around positive people, being around animals (they are some of the most positive people I know!), time with friends, traveling – anywhere can be an adventure!
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests, outside of your art?
A: There’s too many to list, but a good sampling would be: wildlife, nature, pets, traveling, old diners, old motorcycles, spending time with friends, roadside kitsch, and old amusement parks…
